Rebecca S. Widen is a partner with the firm. She is an AV-rated attorney with over 20 years of civil litigation experience. Ms. Widen’s current practice is devoted to the representation of public entities and their employees in civil litigation, including civil rights, privacy, medical malpractice, wrongful death and negligence actions. Ms. Widen has particular expertise in representing county law enforcement and social services agencies in civil rights actions, tort actions, and special education due process proceedings.  Ms. Widen also has expertise in handling appellate matters on behalf of the firm’s clients. She handles both routine and complex appeals, as well as petitions for extraordinary relief, with an excellent record of success. 

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Widen practiced insurance defense and commercial litigation for several years with an AV-rated law firm in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Ms. Widen actively volunteers in the community as a trained mentor for at-risk children and teenagers.
